Beautiful Idleness

Two days back I read somewhere “The tree of idleness is very beautiful but the fruits are very bitter” and I thought how true, sometime or other all of us have experienced something like this, when we have remained idle most of our time spent in office except for some small patches of business. Being idle is sort of addictive, it grows on you, suddenly you don’t want work, if it comes your way, you look the other. A person can be workaholic and can spend hours and hours on the work at hand and never complain about it. But as he gets enchanted more and more by the beauty of idleness, he starts having problems with work, the tree indeed is very beautiful. If the work keeps on coming, the idleness wears off and the person is back to his normal self, the same hardworking workaholic. But as soon as the work is over and he is back to being a “seat potato” he starts feeling the cramps. It’s like being on a drug for long and then suddenly being taken off, the withdrawal symptoms appear. He yearns for work and is ready to do anything, but gradually things start becoming normal and he is back to idleness, lost in the haze of it, intoxicated by it, not knowing when he will be shaken out of it and given something useful to do. The tree becomes more beautiful.......

As necessity is the mother of all inventions, I can now confidently say that.... "Idleness is the mother of Blogging bug" especially noticing the current trend where two of my friends have turned into bloggers....what else u think inspired them??

I am surprised and curious to know 'How did you get to know about my present condition' he he he .....
Need to appreciate the fact that you have been able to narrate the develoment of every bit of that negative energy so well.
On a serious note continue to write Blogs as it give you a forum to give vent to your pent up feeling and channelise the still existing positive energy towards creative works as this.

I cannot agree more with you anytime except now, as i had nothing to do for past 10 days and looking forward to next week on the same lines. But i guess thats good because it gave me time to indulge into other activities (like reading your blog) which i could not do while i was busy.

I think after a while of idleness you yearn for something to do and at that time you can pursue/develop some other interest. Its how you use the time on hand that counts.
